The Public Theater announced that this year's free Shakespeare in the Park season will feature "Othello" and the return of a new musical "Twelfth Night" (which played a short run over Labor Day weekend last year); Manhattan Theatre Club also announced the first two plays of its 2018-2019 season: "The Nap " and "Choir Boy "Regional Update: a musical adaption of the 1993 presidential comedy film "Dave" is headed to the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. (birthplace of "Next to Normal" and "Dear Evan Hansen") this summer under the helm of "SpongeBob SquarePants" director Tina Landau; meanwhile, a musical adaption of the 1982 Dustin Hoffman star-vehicle "Tootsie" is headed to the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago this fall, with Santino Fontana in the lead role and a new score by David Yazbek ("The Band's Visit"); and "Ain't Too Proud", the Temptations musical, will now play engagements in Los Angeles and Toronto following its D.C. bow this summer Grammys Recap: apparently other things happened, but highlights for me were "Dear Evan Hansen " winning Best Musical Theatre Album , Lin-Manuel Miranda winning Best Song Written for Visual Media for "How Far I'll Go " from Disney's "Moana", Ben Platt singing "Somewhere " from "West Side Story" as a tribute to Leonard Bernstein, and Patti LuPone reprising her 1981 Grammy performance of "Don't Cry for Me Argentina " from "Evita", and issuing a détente with Andrew Lloyd Webber after nearly 25 years of acrimony
